Every trip I take, every year that passes by, I become more and more picky when it comes to my accommodation. I want to be able to offer, not only to me, but also to you guys, my readers, the best possible experience for your money. The whole package: cost effective, best possible location, unique décor, beautiful architecture, polite and helpful staff and of course a good night’s sleep! Which is the exact definition of Palazzo Drusko.

Located right in the heart of Kotor’s Old Town, and hosted inside a 600-year-old preserved building, this hotel is a great “story-teller”. It used to belong to the Drusko family – very rich merchants that ultimately lost the property due to gambling issues, so city authorities had to take it, and rent it out. However, with a hip and unique idea, they decided to name the hotel rooms after the occupations of all the tenants that lived in the property throughout the years. Awesome, ey?!

The Artist, The Monk’s, The Merchant’s, The Duke’s, The Marin’s, The Captain’s… You can choose to sleep in any of those rooms, depending on how you want to feel during your stay. I say, “feel” because the unique décor and the one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture in each room give you the impression you are on a travel back in time.

But don’t be thinking that this classy boutique hotel offers just that. Uh-uh. All of the rooms contain smart TVs, some of the rooms feature spa baths, and the antique radios you’ll spot are actually functional and with build-in state of the art sound systems. Plus, if you don’t feel like going out, just head to the reception and ask for the USB and a pair of glasses and enjoy a 3D movie whilst lying on the comfiest bed you’ve ever slept in. Sounds like a plan to me 😉

Palazzo Drusko has to be one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Jelena and Vladimir are amazing hosts and they made sure my stay would be memorable. I also have to publicly say a huge bravo to Slavenko, the owner of the property who I briefly met, for all the effort he puts in to preserve this piece of history and bring the best out of it.
A real Palazzo, one should definitely treat themselves with.
